Holašovice Circle (Stonehenge)
On the edge of the village, there is a megalithic circle made of giant stones, created by local builder Václav Jílek. All the stones come from within 15 kilometers of Holašovice. They belong to this landscape and carry its energy. The arrangement of 25 granite stones generates a new energy, synergistically amplified. The elements in the 30 meter diameter circle interact with each other. The stone giant, weighing 19 tons and standing alone near the circle, is considered the most suitable for meditation.
This Holašovice structure, called a cromlech, a circular arrangement of upright stones or menhirs, is often referred to as the South Bohemian Stonehenge. Curious visitors can receive more information on site from Václav and Miloslava Jílek, who own the megalithic construction.
