Nine Nikola and her younger sister Aneta and their father move to a new town. This is related to changing school and finding new friends. Nikola enters the ninth grade, a hostile environment where she has to win her place. However, it is not easy at all, because the girls are headed by Majda, who dislikes the fact that the class idol Simon starts to look unobtrusively at the new pupil. Nikola is a little different from other girls, she attended the Mathematics Olympics, she sings in the school choir and is a bit of a freak running the latest trends and she and her father have to do much of their homework and care for Aneta. Her dream is to fit in with other girls in the classroom and have new friends. The boys, on the other hand, are dealing with completely different problems, and Simon and his feelings for Nikola are somewhat tightened. But her sister Aneta, who behaves more like a naughty boy, does not make her much easier.
