Farewell to Summer, or Medieval Castle Fun

On the last Saturday of the holiday, Karlův Hrádek near Purkarce comes alive with a medieval festival.

Under the baton of the Teutonic Knights Theatre Association, a rich program with a medieval theme is taking place here. At the next year of Hrád(t)kování, the knights from the Aurum Tábor association will present themselves with their fencing performance. The dance lesson will be performed by the historical dance ensemble Kancioneta and as part of the accompanying program, visitors will have fun with archery or perhaps in a creative workshop and will not be missing a valuable collection of historical weapons. There are tasks prepared for children that will test their prowess, bravery and etiquette. For completed tasks, they will be passed as knights or court ladies. They will also be able to take home handmade purses, swords, shields or beads. Of course, such festivities would not be complete without a proper snack from the field kitchen of the Purkarce firefighters.
