The ferry Purkarec

The ferry operates from May 1 to October 31 (weather permitting).

Opening hours:
May
Monday to Friday - transfer by prior arrangement at least one day in advance
Saturday and Sunday + holidays - from 10:00 to 18:00

June
from June 1 to June 14 Monday to Friday - transfer by prior arrangement at least one day in advance
Saturday and Sunday - from 10:00 to 18:00
from June 15 to June 30 - operation every day from 10:00 to 18:00

July and August
operation every day from 10:00 to 18:00

September
Monday to Friday - transportation by prior arrangement at least one day in advance
Saturdays and Sundays + holidays - from 10:00 to 18:00

October
Monday to Friday - transportation by prior arrangement at least one day in advance
Saturdays and Sundays + holidays - from 10:00 to 16:00

Departure times:
a) To the other bank - every hour - by call/report
b) Transportation to Charles Castle and via ferratas (A,B,C) by appointment/order - departure after checking in interested parties on the other bank - i.e. 10:15, 11:15, etc. - sailing time 30 min.

In case the ferry does not have orders for KH/ferrata, individuals can be transported at any time during the ferry's operating hours by calling +420 602 834 708.

Group orders must be made 1 day in advance. Earlier or later times can be ordered the day before or by arrangement. However, no later than dusk.

Transfer prices are contractual and may change during the season:

Transfer to the other bank Purkarec - Kostelec: both transfers within 10 minutes:

The minimum amount for transport from or to Karlův Hrádek or ferrata is 500,- (if you want to transport there and back, then it is 1000,- CZK) - one-way trip - The boat then returns to Purkarec.

The voyage of persons under 15 years without adult supervision is prohibited.

The ferry departs/arrives only at the embarkation piers, which are located:

• Purkarec – left bank of the Vltava River – under the U Anděla guesthouse in Purkarec – permanent berth from which the ferry departs (or the public pier in Purkarec under ideal navigation conditions)
• right bank of the Vltava River – small pier next to the campsite from which the road to Kostelec leads. Interested parties from the Kostelec side must wait visibly at the embarkation pier at the agreed time of the ferry.
• Pier at Karlovo hrádek
• Pier for via ferrata A, B

The maximum number of people on the vessel must not exceed the maximum permitted occupancy of the vessel according to the ship's certificate. Ferry capacity: ferryman + max. 12 people, or 5 people + 5 bikes, the maximum load capacity of the boat is 900 kg. The number of people and bikes is determined by the ferryman at his discretion.
The ferry boat transports only pedestrians and cyclists who load their equipment themselves.
The ship is not barrier-free.
The transport of animals is only possible after observing safety measures and after agreement with the ferryman. In the event that several interested parties meet with animals, a muzzle may be required.
The operation or departure time may be canceled if: the ferryman considers the sailing conditions to be unsuitable or dangerous, e.g. increased flow, strong wind, adverse weather conditions, etc.
