Lihovar Poněšice

History of the Distillery
Our family distillery, Lihovar Poněšice, is located in a picturesque South Bohemian village near Hluboká nad Vltavou. Three generations of the Ledajaks family work here – father, daughter, and grandson.

The distillery was founded in 2002 by my enterprising father as the fulfillment of his dream to create something unique and honest, something that would bring joy not only to himself but to others as well. Over the years, he has continuously improved and refined the distillery technologically. He has equipped it with several of his own inventions, which make our daily work easier and ensure the high quality of our spirits.

In 2009, I joined his efforts, and twelve years later my nephew followed.

Technology
In 2020, we replaced our original equipment with an all-copper distillation column from the Czech manufacturer Kovoděl Janča from Uherský Brod. We further enhanced this equipment with an automated control system for the entire distillation process. This ensures that the distillation is harmonious and smooth, without any undesirable abrupt fluctuations.

We offer around twenty types of fruit spirits and liqueurs. The foundation of their high quality lies not only in technological discipline and a professional approach, but also in the careful selection of high-quality ripe fruit. About 90% of it comes from South Bohemian orchards. We only process ripe and healthy fruit, as only high-quality fruit mash guarantees a good spirit.

Our Philosophy
Over time, our work has become our shared passion. We enjoy it and believe that this attitude is reflected in the quality of our products. Our customers provide us with important feedback—whether they are long-term partners from restaurants, bars, and cafés, or individuals who return to us regularly.

Whenever possible, we always strive to meet the individual wishes of our customers.
